After rocking the American Idol stage and winning the coveted title, David Cook makes a remarkable entrance to both the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot Digital Songs charts with record setting debuts.  He scored 11 titles on the former, 14 on the latter, enough to give him the record for most debuts in a week by any artist in the Nielsen Music era.  His multiple debuts beat Miley Cyrus who had 6 back in November 11, 2006 for her Hannah Montana feat.  Wait, Miley Cyrus can sing?

So that’s 11 entries, a combined total of 994,000 downloads in the first week of selling.  That’s way too amazing.  Cook is currently in the works with Ryan Tedder and Jesse McCartney for his debut album which is scheduled to drop fall of 2008.

 

Work hard Cook!  I know you’ll get far.  And Miley Cyrus can sing???

    David Cook, I feel might top Carrie Underwood in sales during his career for an American Idol winner. Just as long as he has creative freedom and stays true to his artistry. Hopefully and surely, he’ll show the world, who don’t know who he is, what he’s about.
