WORST HOT COFFEE

Men’s Health named the 20 unhealthiest drinks in America.  One of them is the worst hot coffee and it’s none other than the:

Starbucks Venti 2% Peppermint White Chocolate Mocha

(May not be the actual flavor)

The reason:

660 calories
22 g fat (14 g saturated)
95 g sugar

What they advise:

Avoid holiday-themed items from coffee shops at all costs.  From peppermint to egg nog to pumpkin, these are often the most sugar- and fat-packed drinks you’ll find at places like Starbucks.  Make your own flavored drinks instead, using skim milk, sugar-free syrups, and, of course, skipping the whip.

Good thing my money is just enough to buy me a coffee from the nearest vending machine.  Poor!!!

TO THE COFFEE VENDING MACHINE AND BACK

I took coffee today and the day before since I haven’t slept well for the past 2 days.  I don’t know, but no matter how comfortable I lay my body on the bed, I can’t seem to fall asleep.  It’s not my pillow, it’s not my room.  It’s not even the night that was because I’ve been like this for 2 consecutive nights.  It’s like a little insomnia is getting along the way but it’s not that serious to be worried about.

And so I rushed for coffee to power me up while I’m working.  Remember that I’ve been keeping myself away from coffee but I failed to do so.  I feel I needed coffee more than ever.

I’ve been curious about the down side of coffee, if taken less or excessively, and I have found out that there are known and well-documented side effects, namely:

·          Anxiety

·          Insomnia

·          Tremor

·          Irregular heartbeat

·          Digestive system, bladder and prostate irritation

Oh, that explains the palpitation and not to mention the “addiction” to caffeine.  Hopefully I can get enough sleep these coming days so I can start avoiding coffee – for real.

STILL NO COFFEE

I fell asleep.  My shift has just begun and what have I done? I slept.  Yes, it’s not a power nap this time.  I won’t hesitantly say that I slept for 30 minutes while sitting in front of the computer with my IPOD earphones plugged to both of my ears.  Oh well, this is what usually happens to me if I don’t take in caffeine into my system.  I can’t control it.

I still have to find a way to stay up yet coffee-free or else I have no choice but to rush to the pantry and go straight to the coffeemaker.

To coffee or not to coffee? Arrghh…

MORE OF THE COFFEE

My last article mentioned something about coffee and if you noticed the picture from my last post, which is crafted manually and not digitally enhanced – I think, the latte got a sailboat cruising sometime in midday in an ocean somewhere.  There are actually more of these “coffee art” and they are really eye-catching.

If I have one of these coffees, I might as well stare at it all day and forget about sipping even the tip of the foam.  Mmm, mmm…

NO COFFEE PLEASE

I’m trying to find a way on how I can stay awake during my shift without taking coffee.

I work at 4 o’clock in the morning when regular sleepy heads are on the peak of their snoring spree and just when some of the early worms are about to get up and prepare for the day ahead.  I realize how much the nature of my job differs from the usual yet I don’t deter since I’m still on top of my game and I have to say that “I Love My Job”.

Back to what I’ve been murmuring about, I’ve been dependent on caffeine for almost a month now to get the kick that I need to carry on, last the day and finish my workloads on a daily basis.

Hey, no one said that being a technical support is an easy task – and never will be.

So what are my alternatives? I have to overcome the coffee dependency and I have to be alive for the next 8 hours or so.  Or else, my superiors might caught me and cut my head off.  Ouch!
