MOTHERLY SONGS

In line with the occasion, The Mother’s Day, I’m trying to list the songs, not particular to any era, that have been written where mothers are used as the central theme.  I was able to come up with some and gosh, it’s really hard to recall those I had previously heard before and maybe there are more of these types of compositions I have never ever heard of.  (Clueless)

MY MOM’S MOTHER’S DAY CELEBRATION

This one’s another occasion especially made for women – for mothers, for moms.

Actually my mom was the one who reminded me that this event is about to come.  I think it was last Thursday when I was informed, it was my off from work (thankfully), and it was my reflecting moment so I don’t want to be bothered by anyone or anything at all.  All of a sudden my mom came talking and telling me stories, mostly gossips from our neighbors and her friends, and then she blatantly spoke about the special day.  Here’s how she brought it up:

Mother:  “Son, Mother’s day is on Sunday.  Aren’t we going to treat ourselves? Oh, I remember.  You have work that day.  But we can celebrate right now.  Shall we go?”

Oops.  Talking about a mother’s persuasion, or shall I coin it condescension, I didn’t get a chance to say a word since I was caught off guard.  So immediately, we went out the house and traveled to the nearby mall to dine in and shop around.

Sigh, it’s really hard to turn down mothers, especially my mom.  You have no idea how much trouble, and it’s a humongous one, to get my mother disappointed.  Being a loving son that I am, I just bow down to the queen and succumb to her royal highness.  So much for my meditation day, I missed my soul therapy.  But I have no regrets whatsoever because seeing the joy from my mom’s face is one of the fulfillments I wish all my life.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY MOM!!!  You know how much I love you.

Oh.  So mom, will I expect you to ask me out again this Sunday? (Smile)
